Engineering, System Engineering and Process Engineering Support
•  Accord Engineering is near completion for this $2,032,132 project performing a Remedial Investigation (RI) for Installation Restoration (IR) Site 2/4, an Extended Site Inspection (ESI) for IR Site 3, and IR Site 6 post-removal verification sampling to support a no further action (NFA) recommendation at the Naval Amphibious Base (NAB) Coronado, California, for the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC).

Prototyping, Pre-Production, Model-Making, and Fabrication Support
• Accord Engineering has actively participated in the design, permitting, and construction management of two complex, multi-million-dollar soil and groundwater remediation projects for terminal development at Pier S (completed) and Pier A West (on-going) at the Port of Long Beach.  These complex soil and groundwater remediation projects were successful Brownfield redevelopment cases under a voluntary clean-up agreement with the DTSC, which follows the same protocols of the CERCLA/RCRA remedial action process.  Both Pier S and Pier A West sites contained sumps, land treatment units, and landfills used by past oil production activities for disposal of production-related wastes. Site contamination resulting from the oil production activities must be remediated to specific site clean-up goals to allow redevelopment into terminals. Since 2000, Accord Engineering has performed more than $500,000 of engineering support services.

Quality Assurance (QA) Support
• San Clemente Island (SCI) is located in the Pacific Ocean approximately 78 miles northwest of San Diego and 63 miles southeast of Long Beach. Accord Engineering was selected to provide a Site Assessment/Site Investigation to evaluate the nature and extent of impacts to soil and/or soil vapor from historic onsite operations nine IR sites.
Sampling efforts occurred over a 3-week period.  The Accord Engineering sampling team worked twelve-hour days, six days a week to perform both the sampling efforts and debris mapping.  Sampling methods included hand augering, hollow stem direct push, and soil vapor via summa canisters.  All sample and debris spatial data (from the debris mapping) was recorded and plotted using ArcGIS.  This data was then uploaded to the Naval Installation Restoration Information Solution (NIRIS) and is maintained and accessible over the lifecycle of the IR program and beyond.

Program Support
• Accord Engineering provided engineering and construction management services to repair, re-engineer and otherwise bring into new operational condition a waste water treatment facility at El Centro NAF.  This also brought the system into compliance with local, state  and federal government regulations for NPDES and RWQCB program requirements.
